In January and February, 2015, subject to the impact of the continuousdecline of the global shipping market, new ship orders received by China have continuedthe weakening trend of last year. The fulfilled volume of ships has reboundedand turned the three-consecutive-year declining trend. All economic indicators developin a steady way.
I、Two rises and one decline in China’s three major shipbuilding indicators
In January and February, the fulfilled volume throughout the country was 5.56 million DWT, which indicated a year-on-year growth of 34.1%; 3.82 million DWT of new ship orders were received, which was down by 78.9% compared to last year; by the end of February, 147.6 million DWT of ship orders had been held in hand, with an increase of 1.8% compared to last year and a decrease of 1.2% compared to the end of 2014
From January to February, the fulfilled volume of exported ships throughout China was 5 million DWT, with an increase of 36.9% compared to last year; 3.47 million DWT of export ship orders were received, which was down by 78.1% compared to last year; by the end of February, 141.4 million DWT of ship orders had been held in hand, with an increase of 9.6% compared to last year. The exported ships accounted for 90%, 90.8% and 95.8% of the fulfilled volume, newly received order and orders held, respectively.
II、Key Enterprises under Monitoring
1. There are both rise and decline in the three major indicators for shipbuilding enterprises
From January to February, the fulfilled volume of the 54 key enterprises under monitoring was 5 million DWT, with an increase of 25.3% compared to last year; 3.82 million DWT of new ship orders were received, which was down by 78.9% compared to last year; by the end of February, 145.66 million DWT of ship orders had been held in hand, with an increase of 4.1% compared to last year.
From January to February, the 54 key enterprises under monitoring completed 4.45 million DWT of exported ships, with an increase of 36.9% compared to last year; 3.47 million DWT of new ship orders were received, which was down by 78.1% compared to last year; by the end of February, 138.96 million DWT of ship orders had been held in hand, with an increase of 11.4% compared to last year. The exported ships accounted for 89%, 90.8% and 95.4% of the fulfilled volume, newly received order and orders held, respectively.
2、Year-on-Year Growth of Total Industrial Output Value
From January to February, the 88 key enterprises under monitoring in the ship industry completed a total industrial output value of 53.54 billion yuan, which was up by 6.9% compared to last year. The output value of shipbuilding was 26.71 billion yuan, which was up by 10.4% compared to last year; the output value of ship equipment was 4.79 billion yuan, with an increase of 13.2% compared to last year; and the output value of ship repairing was 1.68 billion yuan, which was up by 2.4% compared to last year.
3. Year-on-Year Growth of Ship Export
In January and February, the 88 key enterprises under monitoring in the ship industry completed an export output value of 26.04 billion yuan, which was up by 5.7% compared to last year. The output value of shipbuilding was 21.01 billion yuan, which was up by 6.5% compared to last year; the output value of ship equipment was 0.77 billion yuan, with an increase of 8.5% compared to last year; and the output value of ship repairing was 1.12 billion yuan, which was up by 5.7% compared to last year.
4. The economic efficiency of enterprises remained steady
In January and February, the 88 key enterprises under monitoring in the ship industry achieved main business revenue of 34.2 billion yuan, with an increase of 25.7% compared to last year; their total profit was 330 million yuan, which was down by 4.8% compared to last year.
